Individual & Couples Therapy in Milton, Georgia

Walk & Talk Therapy

Step outside the traditional therapy room and into nature. Our Walk & Talk Therapy sessions take place on 40 peaceful private acres, surrounded by open fields, quiet woods, and gentle paths where you can move, breathe, and reflect at your own pace.

As you walk side by side with your therapist, conversation unfolds naturally, easing tension, sparking insight, and fostering emotional clarity. Through the combined power of nature and mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy, we’ll explore your values, uncover what truly matters to you, and create a clear path toward your personal goals, hopes and dreams.

Whether you’re seeking relief from anxiety, processing life transitions, or simply hoping to reconnect with yourself, this unique experience offers space to think, feel, and heal—out in the open air, surrounded by the quiet wisdom of nature.

A Unique Touch: Horses as Silent Therapists

Our resident horses—gentle, intuitive souls—offer optional equine-assisted elements. Simply observing or approaching them during a walk can mirror relational dynamics, building empathy and trust without words. No riding required; their presence alone invites profound, wordless healing.

Why Choose Walk & Talk Counseling?

Walk & Talk Therapy might be a good fit if you:

  • Feel stuck or restless in a traditional office.

  • Want to process thoughts, reduce stress, or gain clarity while moving.

  • Enjoy nature, mindfulness, or holistic approaches to mental wellness.

This approach combines the healing power of movement and nature with therapy to help you release tension, focus, and reconnect with yourself.

How Walk & Talk Therapy Works

Your first session can be indoors to assess if this approach fits your goals, or outside on our serene porch overlooking the stables. From there, we’ll head onto our private trails, pausing on chairs as needed. Sessions are flexible—full walks, hybrid, or adjusted to your comfort and needs.

Individual Therapy for Adults & Teens

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Behavioral Therapy (SFBT) and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) to identify the unhelpful thoughts that slip into your subconscious and replace them with ones that support your goals—so instead of getting stuck in fight, flight, freeze, fawn, eat, shop, fake, drink, escape, upgrade or maximize mode, you can break free from patterns that fuel shame, block life satisfaction or drive procrastination. Let's challenge the "musts" and "shoulds" holding you back and replace them with constructive ways of thinking.

Couples

With the Gottman Method, I help couples stop arguing in circles and start communicating like people who care about each other. It’s not magic; it’s a skill that needs to be practiced.

The Gottman Method is a practical way that any couple can  break out of a cycle of repeated arguments and start communicating for the purpose of their friendship. Based on decades of research, couples learn to recognize conflict patterns, outsmart the "Four Horsemen" of Criticism, Contempt, Defensiveness and Stonewalling to strengthen trust and commitment. GM is great for couples that want a practical framework to handle all future conflicts & missed connections.

Families

If we demand that our families always understand us or never let us down, we will be disappointed. Learn the skills to accept them as they are—imperfect human beings we can still choose to be in relationships with.

However, sometimes the hurt runs deep. Acknowledging that trauma is important but insisting they should have been better can prolong suffering. Healing comes from accepting their limitations, feeling the pain without letting it define your life and finding ways to move forward.

If you’re struggling with these challenges, therapy can provide a supportive space to explore your feelings, reframe expectations and develop healthier ways of relating to your family.
